What makes this project special?
What makes this project special is the opportunity to advocate for accessibility and raise awareness within the company.
Accessibility exercise
We did a quick session on accessibility with Moira, providing educational materials to help them understand the challenges individuals with low vision experience. For example, we showed how a graph in grey colours without labels can be difficult to interpret and emphasised the importance of using patterns and labels for clear communication in data visualisations.
Branding colours
Their previous branding colours (in 2020) raised accessibility issues, with a contrast ratio lower than 3:1.
I collaborated with Moira's marketing team to address this problem. For a quick fix, we adjusted the colour contrast to meet the WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) standards.
My impact
A year later, I had the opportunity to work with Moira again, and they introduced a new branding colour palette with significantly improved colour contrast.
I am very proud to have played a role in raising accessibility awareness and making an impact on the company's design practices.
